Background

I have a bachelor of arts in International Studies, have traveled extensively, lived overseas in Costa Rica, and befriended many whose cultures and lives look very different from my own. These experiences have equipped me to engage difference with experience, humility, and curiosity. I have a master’s degree in Social Work from Baylor University, where my research focused on the intersection between neuroscience, trauma, and the healing power of nature. I also have a master’s of Divinity from Baylor, where my research focused on the intersection between theology, pain, and healing. These educational experiences have taught me the power of diversity, nature, spirituality, and creativity in the healing process. I am excited to share them with you. (When in doubt, go outside!)

Diversity.

You are welcome here regardless of class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, language, political beliefs, country of origin, documentation status, age, disability, mental health diagnosis, economic or social location, etc. I see diversity as a gift.

With a deep nod to the other-than-human world, the presence of biodiversity on our planet teaches us that there is a needed role and purpose for variety, peculiarity, and otherness. In fact, the entire ecosystem is thrown off balance when diversity decreases.

Be you. The world needs it.
